Always Plugged Into Something

Every one of us is always plugged into something.

We plug into our thoughts—the rehearsed stories we tell ourselves.

We plug into our circumstances—the weight of what we see and feel.

We plug into the voices around us—the doctor’s diagnosis, the culture’s narrative, the opinions of people.

But you were never created to run on the limited current of this world.

You were created to be plugged into something greater—the unlimited, unstoppable, unshakable power of God!

Jesus declared:

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5 NLT)

Notice He didn’t say you might bear fruit. He said you will. Why? Because the Vine carries life. The branches don’t struggle to produce it—they simply stay connected to the Source.

When you plug into Him, His life flows into yours. His strength becomes your strength. His peace steadies your heart. His power ignites your purpose.

Here’s the truth:

If you plug into fear, fear will drain you.

If you plug into negativity, it will short-circuit your joy.

If you plug into the world’s approval, your peace will flicker every time someone disapproves.

But when you plug into Christ, you tap into a current that cannot run out.

Paul said it like this:

I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty. (Philippians 4:13 TPT)

The prophet Jeremiah gives us another picture of this same truth:

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT)

The tree doesn’t fear the drought because its roots are always plugged into the river. That’s what happens when your source is God Himself—your supply is steady, regardless of what’s happening around you.

This isn’t just theory; it’s daily life.

Plugged into worry → you replay the worst-case scenario until fear paralyzes you.

Plugged into offense → you relive the hurt until bitterness poisons your heart.

Plugged into comparison → you measure yourself against others until joy drains away.

But when you unplug from those things and plug into God’s promises:

Plugged into His Word → you rehearse truth until faith rises.

Plugged into His peace → you sense calm even when storms rage.

Plugged into His Spirit → you find strength that doesn’t make sense to the natural mind.

The current of heaven isn’t waiting for tomorrow—it’s here, right now.

The same Spirit that hovered over creation, that split the sea, that raised Christ from the dead—that power is available to you in this very moment.

John saw it this way:

Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1 NLT)

That river has never stopped flowing. From His throne flows unending life, power, and refreshing for every dry place.

Paul prayed that believers would know this very power:

I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power [20] that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! (Ephesians 1:19-20 TPT)

So choose your connection.

Unplug from fear. Unplug from doubt. Unplug from the empty sockets of this world.

And plug into the One whose power never fails.

Plug into the Vine and watch fruit overflow.

Plug into His Spirit and watch dead things live again.

Plug into His presence and watch chains break.

Because you are always plugged into something—make sure it’s the power that never runs dry.
