Burn the Backup Plan. Break the Box. Step Into Destiny.

Some things can’t go with you where God is taking you. Some things aren’t just heavy—they’re hindrances. And sometimes, before you can walk into purpose, God has to deal with what you’re still holding as a backup plan.
He’s not just trying to get you out of your past—He’s trying to get your past out of you.
For the Israelites, leaving Egypt wasn’t just about physical freedom. It was about mind renewal. They were out of slavery—but slavery wasn’t out of them.
Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. (Deuteronomy 8:2 NLT)
They wandered because they weren’t ready. Egypt had trained them to live in fear and react in survival. But God was preparing them for inheritance—and that required a mindset they didn’t yet have.
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (Romans 12:2 TPT)
That’s still His way! Before you step into destiny, God often walks you through wilderness places—not to punish you, but to plow up the places where you’ve settled.
Where fear has made you small.
Where religion has numbed you.
Where passion has been replaced with patterns.
It’s easy to go through the motions of faith, to perform without presence. But Jesus isn’t asking for polished routines. He’s looking for people who still respond.
My own sheep will hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me. (John 10:27 TPT)
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. (Matthew 11:29 MSG)
You weren’t made to function in survival mode. You were made to flow in rhythm with the Spirit.
Has your relationship with God become reactive instead of responsive?
Reactive means:
You’re operating out of habit, fear, emotion, or pressure.
You’re often responding to a problem, a trigger, or external circumstance.
Your actions are immediate, unprocessed, or default-based.
In faith, it looks like:
→ Only turning to God when life gets hard.
→ Repeating prayers or behaviors without heart engagement.
→ Living on spiritual autopilot.
Reactive faith waits for something to go wrong before it moves.
Responsive means:
You’re intentionally attuned to God’s voice, prompting, and presence.
You act out of intimacy and discernment, not just need or pressure.
Your obedience is thoughtful, surrendered, and led by the Holy Spirit.
In faith, it looks like:
→ Listening and moving when God speaks—even when it’s inconvenient.
→ Worshiping not because you "should," but because He’s worthy.
→ Making room for daily fellowship with God, not just emergency encounters.
Responsive faith doesn’t wait for crisis—it moves from closeness.
When your relationship with God becomes reactive instead of responsive, religion creeps in. And it slowly convinces you to repeat what you’ve already outgrown.
But repetition won't carry you into breakthrough!
It may have served you once—but now it's slowing you down. What God is calling you to next won't be unlocked through routine. It will require response. Not just scheduled worship, but surrendered worship. Not just saying yes to what's safe—but stepping into what's sacred.
And that's where Mary comes in.
She didn’t come to Jesus with safe worship. She didn’t cling to logic, dignity, or what others might say. She came with a costly offering—and she didn’t pour it out gently. She broke it.
Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head. (Mark 14:3 NLT)
Her alabaster box wasn’t just expensive. It was prophetic. It held her past, her story, her worth—and when she shattered it, she said with her actions: I’m not saving this for later. I’m all in!
Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why are you giving her a hard time? She has just done something wonderfully significant for me...And you can be sure that wherever in the whole world the Message is preached, what she just did is going to be talked about admiringly.” (Mark 14:6-9 MSG)
What others called waste, Jesus called worship.
Some of us are waiting for the “right moment” to surrender fully. But real destiny doesn't wait for convenience—it’s ignited by obedience. If you’ve been holding something in reserve—your calling, your fire, your past, your pain—it might be time to break the box.
This is your invitation:
Burn the backup plan.
Break the box.
Step into the life you were born to live.
Fan into a flame and rekindle the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon you. (2 Timothy 1:6 TPT)
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? (Isaiah 43:19a NLT)
You don’t need another sign. You need to say yes!
You weren’t created to carry pieces of your purpose—you were meant to pour it out!
